What to expect?
The upcoming games this Thursday are going to be exciting. Shabab Al Ahli will be taking on Sharjah at Sharjah’s stadium. Both teams have been dominant so far and it will be exciting to see who comes out on top. Nick Minnerath for Shabab Al Ahli has been on fire from behind the three point line. Chavaughn Lewis, Hamed Abdullateef and Qais Omar Al Shabebi have been on point as well. Sharjah’s new additions of Devon Scott and Dequan Jones have gelled really well into the Sharjah squad. They are a formidable opponent for any team and this matchup will be one to watch.
The Al Nasr versus Al Wasl game will also be a match to watch as it will be a good indicator of who will take the 2-4 positions in the standings. Al Wasl has had a tough schedule so far playing Shabab Al Ahli, Sharjah, and now Al Nasr. These three teams are the only teams that have not lost a game yet. It will surely be a competitive game from the get go. Al Nasr’s new additions have been contributing to the squad’s success in a meaningful way. Marvelle Harris and Nikola Dragovic have brought a great impact to the teams performance, but also have helped their teammates be the best possible squad as possible.
Al Bataeh versus Al Dhafra will be an important one for Al Bataeh to solidify themselves as a team that can upset any team in the league. They made a lot of noise this summer in the Vice President’s Cup upsetting Al Nasr in the quarterfinals. Their top players Devante Foster and Ingram are making waves with their great style of play. In their loss to Al Nasr in Week 2, both of them had more than 20 points each. In addition, their teammates are able to perform better because less pressure is put on any one player for Al Bataeh. Al Dhafra has had a tough season so far, going 0 in 3 games. Despite that fact, they have a scrappy team that will give it their all to win. As a team, Al Dhafra has a lot of drive and will put up a good fight this Thursday.
